Join the Friends of North Leverett Sawmill for the opening reception of “Art & Crafts Inspired by the 1774 North Leverett Sawmill,” on view at the Leverett Library through October 30. The exhibit features artworks in a wide variety of media that were inspired by the mill, its working components, and its environs.
Paintings, etchings, photographs, and sculpture are on view, along with fabric art, collage, sketchbook drawings, and digital art. Historic works include a 1935 etching of the mill by Frank Waugh, a 1947 oil painting by Stephen George Maniatty, and sculptures by Lloyd Kirley, the mill’s last private owner.
